The Clutter Family

"Jolene K. came over and I showed her how to make a cherry pie. Practiced with Roxie. Bobby here and we watched TV. Left at eleven."

(The final entry in Nancy Clutter's diary, written an hour or two before she, her brother, her mother, and her father were slaughtered November 15, 1959 in Holcomb, Kansas.)

Truman Capote learned of the slaying when a small article in the New York Times caught his eye (and imagination), whereupon he traveled to Kansas with Harper Lee (his childhood friend and author of To Kill a Mockingbird) and began work on a book, what most consider his magnum opus, In Cold Blood.

KAC Gallery, Winter Collection

These three images are included in the Winter Collection show at the KAC Gallery, Clinton, NY, Vartan Poghosian the manager extraordinaire.

The first two are very recent, part of my "Pretty Poison" series. Both are 8" squares, signed giclees, editions of three.

The third, "Primitive," is from a signed giclee edition of ten.

The KAC Gallery, new to central NY, offers a rare dose of off-the-beaten-path art for this philistine region. The artists showing at the KAC Gallery are accomplished and contemporary, the work ranges from modern to post-modern. I'm very happy to be included.

The opening is tomorrow, Valentine's Day, from 5 to 9.

Doom & Gloom

This is the latest graphic by one "Highsmith Expat" for Public Illumination Magazine, the world's tiniest international publication since 1979. The topic is: doom and gloom.
